What standard do I need to be to apply for this course?
Applicants of music conservatoire standard or higher will be considered. Our faculty will be coaching musicians who wish to make a career in music or professionals who are already in the business.
How do I apply?
Firstly please register your interest by filling out the application form here. Then in October we will ask you to submit a video recording of yourself playing a 15 minute programme plus a short biography.
Do I need to make a professional recording for my application?
No, it is the content our panel will be looking at, not the recording quality. A recording on your smartphone will suffice if necessary.
Where will we stay?
Accommodation is provided on campus at Chichester University with meals included.
Can I arrange my own accommodation?
Yes, you may find your own accommodation and your accommodation fee will be deducted from the cost of the course.
Will my classes be open to the public?
Feedback sessions will be private between you and our faculty members, lessons and masterclasses will be open to the rest of the course.
Is there financial help available?
Bursaries will be available on a limited basis.
How much does the course cost?
The full cost of the course including accommodation and meals is £1000.
How do I travel to the course?
The nearest international airport to Chichester University is London Gatwick. From there you can take a 55 minute train journey to Chichester station and from there it is a short bus or taxi ride.Taxis from Gatwick cost around £48 one way.
Is there an age limit on this course?
Participants age 18 and above are welcome.
What are the dates for the course?
Sunday 9th to Friday 14th August 2020.
Can I attend a few days of the course or is attendance compulsory?
Full attendance is compulsory but exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.
Can I record the sessions I’m in?
Unfortunately recording of the sessions is not permitted, however our professional camera crew will be recording certain classes in the course and you will have online access to these after the course.
How many sessions in the week are there?
There will be individual lessons, masterclasses, discussion groups and workshops everyday. A full timetable will be issued in the autumn.
Will I have time to practice? Are there practice rooms available?
There will be time for practise and reflection in our state of the art music department.
Will I get any qualification or certificate to show I have taken professional development?
On completion of the course, each applicant will receive an ESTA CPD certificate.
